Rich beautiful green with irregular banding. These beads are “A” grade. Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
The name is derived from the Greek “molochitis” meaning “mallow green stone”. Malachite was used as a mineral pigment in green paints from antiquity until about 1800. Mining Malachite began as early as 4000 BC by the Ancient Egyptians. In the Middle Ages Malachite was worn to protect from Black Magic and sorcery. Believed to bring harmony into one’s life and give knowledge and patience. The bands of varying hues is believed to lend extra energy. Rich beautiful green with irregular banding.
