Labradorite

Legend - Labradorite is a type of feldspar.  It was first found in 1770 on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada, from which it received its name.  It is usually grey but in different angles of light displays a variety of colour - mainly blue.  This is called "schiller" effect.  It is not the result of surface colour but light reflected internally across cleavage sections creating what is known as labradorescence.

Properties - Believed to be a highly mystical and protective stone, deflecting unwanted energies.  It raises consciousness and connects with universal energies.

Description - These Labradorite beads are A grade, grey colour showing good blue labradorescence. Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
