STAUROLITE BEADS

Legend

Often known as “fairy stones” or “fairy crosses” because Staurolite occurs naturally in the shape of a cross.  Named for the Greek “stauros” and “lithos” - “cross stone”.  For centuries prized as good luck talisman and worn as an amulet.

Properties

Believed to protect from negative forces and aid anyone battling evil.

Description

Shades of pinkish to dark brown, clearly showing the distinctive cross on the larger beads.  These can clearly be identified as “Greek Crosses” (90 degree) or “St Andrew Crosses” (60 degree).  Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
