Variant of chalcedony, Carnelian is an opaque to translucent light orange to deep
reddish/brown. Name is derived from he latin word “carnem” meaning horn, in reference
to the colour sometimes exhibited. Widely used during Roman times to make signet
or seal rings -
Properties
Long believed to bring luck, protection and comfort. Said to be a motivation stone and some refer to it as the “self esteem stone”.
Description
These beads are a dark, rich rust/orange colour. Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
